School of Electrical and Computer Engineering
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering seeks to produce creative and competitive experts with strong fundamental skills and specialties in electrical and computer engineering. The department encourages students to improve communication and teamwork skills and to understand professional and ethical responsibilities. The school offers electrical and fundamental computer engineering courses and various specialized courses including microwave and optics, semiconductor, circuit design, control, signal processing, information and communications, and computers. The department pursues the maximum level of synergy between electrical engineering and computer engineering fields by continuously diversifying computer related courses such as artificial intelligence, algorithm, computer architecture, multimedia, database management system, operating system, and computer networks. In order to encourage students to exercise experimental methods and to experience the latest technologies, the school maintains more than 25 well-equipped laboratories including 3 PC rooms, the Seoul GRID center and 3 affiliated institutes; Institute of Information and Technology, Research Group of the Flat Panel Display, and Institutes of Quantum Information Processing and System.
