Univ. of Seoul Selected as Excellent certified university

In 2023, University of Seoul (President Won Yong-geol) was selected as an 'Excellent Certified University' in the International Education Quality Assurance System (IEQAS) hosted by the Ministry of Education, the highest rating possible, and has received the highest rating for 10 consecutive years since 2012.
Only 15 out of 108 four-year universities in Korea were selected, and as an accredited university for both degree programs and language programs, University of Seoul received excellent ratings in all indicators, including tuition burden for international students, counseling rate, dropout rate, certified language proficiency, and international student satisfaction management.
As a result of this designation, University of Seoul will receive various benefits such as simplified procedures for issuing international student visas, expanded part-time employment, and preferential treatment for the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) program, and is expected to attract more excellent international students and improve its internationalization indicators.
In addition, the results of the selection, which will be made public by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Justice, are expected to help raise the image of University of Seoul among international students.
University of Seoul announced it plans to strengthen its international competitiveness and further establish itself as a center of excellence where talented people from around the world gather.
