    • Graduate School of Science in Taxation (GSST) is the only graduate school in Korea that the Ministry of Education granted establishment for professional education in the area of taxation. The programs in GSST have evolved from the Baccalaureate Program, which achieved an outstanding reputation in a relatively short period of time - an accomplishment that has taken most major institutions decades to achieve. GSST offers the graduate degrees of Master’s of Science in Taxation (MST) and Ph.D. in Taxation. The MST Program is designed to prepare students for entry and accelerated advancement in the tax profession and to provide additional formal education required by individuals in the field of taxation and other fields seeking either a career change or advancement. Currently, the MST Program, a two-year program, allows admittance to 35 students annually and offers course-work in 5 major areas of concentration: Tax Law, Tax Accounting, International Taxation, Tax Policy Analysis and Tax Systems of Sub-national Jurisdictions. The School offers a high quality Ph.D. Program that emphasizes development of research and teaching skills in order for graduates to acquire the credentials necessary for placement in leading academic and/or research institutions. The School has an active research-oriented faculty and has established goals of achieving national prominence for its programs. A student in the Ph.D. Program is normally expected to study for three years, including one year of dissertation research (required time period may be shortened for qualified students).
